Barrow Borough Council were looking for industrial roofing contractors to carry out a strip and re-sheet of a 5500m2 steel roof. Following a tender process Leafield Projects were selected as the preferred bidder.

The roof had suffered heavy cut edge corrosion over a number of years and was beyond repair. The building was the home to a large go-karting track, bowling alley and furniture warehouse. The works were to take place during the school summer holidays, the busiest trading period for the go-karting and bowling alley.

Intricate health and safety planning was carried out to ensure the tenants could remain fully operational whilst the work was undertaken.

Despite awkward working hours the project was completed on time, on budget with an exemplary health and safety record.
